Institutional learning outcomes (ILOs) represent learning that is central to the academic, professional, and personal success of all Helena College students. These outcomes, known informally as "The Four Cs," encompass the fundamental knowledge and skills that all students should achieve and demonstrate upon completion of any degree or certificate earned from the institution. The outcomes align with the College's mission, are integrated within general education and program-specific curricula, and are assessed in coursework throughout a student's journey towards a credential. 

Critical Thinking

Graduates will identify and analyze challenges, apply evidence and appropriate reasoning to develop solutions, and reflect on results to support continuous academic and professional improvement. 

Communication

Graduates will communicate effectively and ethically, demonstrate responsibility for their messages and actions, and adapt communication strategies to serve varied audiences, perspectives, purposes, and settings. 

Collaboration

Graduates will collaborate professionally and lead when appropriate to support shared goals and collective responsibility. 

Competence

Graduates will apply relevant technologies, information, and skills to complete tasks, solve problems, and achieve goals.
