PHSX 205  College Physics I w/Lab  (4 Credits)  
This is the first semester of a two semester series of college physics. Topics covered include kinematics, Newton's Laws of Motion and Gravitation, energy, momentum, rotational motion, oscillations, basic properties of fluids, wave motion, and thermodynamics. The lab component complements lecture material.
Pre-requisite(s): (M 151 or M 171 or M 172 )  
Satisfies the following General Education Core requirements: Natural Sciences

PHSX 207  College Physics II  (4 Credits)  
This is the second semester of a two semester series of college physics. Topics covered include electrostatics, DC circuits, optics, and an introduction to modern physics. Includes a lab component that complements lecture material.
Pre-requisite(s): PHSX 205 and (M 151 or M 171 or M 172 )  
Satisfies the following General Education Core requirements: Natural Sciences

PHSX 220  Physics I  (4 Credits)  
First semester of a two-semester sequence primarily for STEM students. Covers topics in mechanics including kinematics, Newton's laws, energy, momentum, rotational motion, oscillations, basic properties of fluids, and wave motion.
Pre-requisite(s): M 171 (may be taken concurrently) or M 172  
Satisfies the following General Education Core requirements: Natural Sciences

PHSX 222  Physics II (w/ calculus)  (4 Credits)  
Second-semester of a two-semester sequence primarily for STEM students. Covers topics in electricity and magnetism (such as Coulomb's law, Gauss' law, electric fields, electric potential, dc circuits, magnetic fields, Faraday's law, ac circuits, and Maxwell's equations) and optics (such as light, geometrical optics, and physical optics).
Pre-requisite(s): PHSX 220 and (M 171 or M 172)

PHSX 226  Gen Science: Int Science I  (4 Credits)  
An investigation of basic principles of physics and chemistry including matter, physical and chemical properties, energy, motion, light, atomic structure, bonding, solutions, and chemical reactions. The interdependence of chemistry and physics will be emphasized. This course is intended for non-science majors including elementary education.
