College Success (COLS)

COLS 101  First Year Seminar  (3 Credits)  
The theme of this seminar course is Place, Purpose, Practice: Building a Meaningful College Experience. Through readings, reflective writing, discussion, research, and community engagement students will examine how their relationships with people, places, and communities help shape and support their personal and academic goals; clarify their sense of purpose in college and career; and develop practical, intellectual, and interpersonal skills that support success in academic and professional settings. Emphasizing critical thinking, self-discovery, and communication skills, this course prepares students to engage meaningfully in college and beyond.
